Wise Up!

“What you resist persists.”

“We have met the enemy, and he is us.” (Walt Kelly)

These statements reflect the idea that resistance to something places your attention on it, feeding it energy and causing you to resonate to it.

President Bush tells us that we must “fight for freedom.” However, fighting and freedom are, vibrationally speaking, far apart. If you are fighting, you are not free!

This is in fact a very clever way to psychologically condition the population to war. Inherent in the statement is a contradiction –– which makes you resist it! This causes you to move emotionally toward anger, which is in perfect resonance with fighting, and away from freedom. Do you see how clever language can be? That is why it is always advisable to live consciously, in the moment: never accept anything from an authority figure unless it passes your “truth” filter!

In previous articles we have talked about the Law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction is one of the 5 fundamental universal principles. It states that “like attracts like.” In life, we observe that people who like each other hang out together.

The Law of Attraction is mirrored in the physical universe as well, in the chemical elements that combine to form compounds. For example, sodium and chlorine have atomic structures that like each other, and so they combine to form salt. Sodium has no affinity for calcium, however, so these two do not combine.

Just so in life, where an engineer who likes fine wines and classical music will probably not hang out with a punker.

This universe is one of attraction and combination. If that were not so, then nothing could come together! There would then be no galaxies, stars, or planets; no mountains, trees, or oceans. In order for combination to occur, attraction and harmony must first be present.

That’s because when you hate something, you want to be as far away from it as possible!

So the basic rule of the universe is that ‘like attracts like.’ Although this rule sounds simple indeed, it is enormously powerful if you really understand its implications.

Let’s take the very popular “War on Terrorism.”

The two vibrations, “War” and “Terrorism,” are almost identical and self–reinforcing. Both are angry, hostile vibrations that strengthen and support the other.

The Law of Attraction tells us that a “war on terror” can only increase the probability of terrorism, as everyone on both sides of the war resonate more and more strongly to it.

Passing laws to fight, restrict, or abolish any activity, therefore, cannot possibly succeed. Such laws drive the activity underground, where it continues to flourish. In fact, the attempt to impose legal statutes with force only promotes the activity, and makes it “cool.”  As Mae West once said, “All pub is good pub,” meaning that bad publicity is just as good as good publicity, for it keeps you in the public eye

.

“What you resist persists” is easily explainable using the law of attraction and the vibrational universe concept.

When you approve of something, you place your attention on it, activating it more strongly within you and sending that message out to the universe at large.

When you resist something, you place your attention on it, activating it more strongly within you, and sending that message out to the universe at large.

So you see, there is really no distinction whatsoever between “Yes” and “No!”

Does that seem counter–intuitive?

Look at it!

If you study history for 50 hours and math for 1 hour (assuming that you are equally good at both subjects), which test would you expect to do better on?

If Joe goes to his job interview prepared and Jill doesn’t, who is likely to have the most success?

Really folks, it’s quite simple (but powerful): the universe gives you more of what you are focusing on.

If you want a new job but spend most of your time bemoaning your present job, you’ll stay stuck in the old job. When change comes, it will not be beneficial to you. Then you’ll have more to complain about!

The moral of the story is: Wise Up!

If you want to change your life, create something positive!

If you fight the negative, you’ll just experience more and more of what you don’t want.
