The five human senses only perceive a tiny, tiny, tiny subset of the electromagnetic spectrum.
Our eyes perceive in a very narrow range of wavelengths, from 380 to about 750 nanometers, as indicated by the Visible Spectrum portion of the graph.
The human ear can only perceive sound in the range of around 20 cycles per second to about 20,000 cycles per second.
Far, far more of Reality exists outside the perception of the body than there is within the scope of the body’s sensory receptors. With scientific instruments we can see farther out, but the frequencies outside the body’s perception must be re-translated by any scientific instrument so that the human eye can see them and the human ear can hear them. Therefore, direct observation and experience of the Reality outside the body’s narrow confines of perception is impossible.
Because science is extremely limited in its ability to perceive Reality as a whole, it must make educated guesses about the true Reality outside the body’s tiny box of perceptions.
This box of perception is what I call the Body Reality.
Metaphysics attempts to describe what science cannot, because scientific speculation cannot be the final word on what exists outside the body reality.
The concept of incarnation, for example, has been around for thousands of years. Incarnation is the idea that a soul – a non-physical conscious personality – enters the body for a physical experience, and then has fun perceiving through the body’s sensory apparatus for a while, and playing all sorts of physical games. After the body’s life is over, the soul returns to Native State, a state of pure awareness beyond the physical. The Body Reality, then, is a temporary experience in the physical universe. An incarnation is like a vacation for the soul. The ending is always the same: a return Home to Native State.
The news cycle these days is crazy. From the Ukraine war to student debt relief to accusations about Biden and Trump to whistleblower testimony about government corruption, to our crime-ridden big cities ...and there’s more every day. I don’t think anyone would disagree that the times are moving so fast that it’s impossible to keep up with the “course of human events.”
Why are events changing so rapidly?
Let’s look at the graph of human population growth.
During the past 100 years the world's population has increased from
2 billion in 1926 to over 8 billion in 2023.
This population growth is unprecedented in world history. Every day, billions of individuals are contributing their bit to the collective thought space, creating an excitation and an amplification within the collective consciousness of humanity, and creating an engine for massive change. After 6,000 years of the same old shit, humanity is beginning to wake up.
Imagine how much more powerful the human thought space is now compared to 1926, with 6 billion more contributors! In the US, the 2023 population is 325 million, and in 1926 it was about 120 million. And similarly for 1926 compared to 1826, when the world population was about 1.2 billion and the U.S. population was about 12 million. Life was much more slow-moving in 1826 compared to 1926. And 2023 makes 1926 look like the horse and buggy era. We are living in a time where the power of human thought is rapidly accelerating. There’s only one problem: human thought is terribly disorganized and incoherent, like a child’s drawing. Is it any wonder the world appears to be a madhouse of change? The desire to make the world better is a good thing, but humanity has to come together for effective change.
As humanity wakes up we will discover the power of our consciousness, celebrate our differences, and understand our shared divinity. The Awakening will also be accompanied by a recognition that the body reality is just a subset of a much larger, and more beautiful, way of being and living.
