This title is a quote from Dr. Pangloss in Voltaire‘s 1759 satire, Candide. It is always said cynically by Dr. Pangloss, as events unfold from crisis to crisis. Voltaire used the Dr. Pangloss character to comment satirically on the foibles of 18th century society. Pangloss was always waiting for the next disaster to happen! However, I am not speaking satirically. I really do think that we live in the best of all possible worlds, for two reasons: The universal Law of Attraction, and the planet’s spiritual system (see the link).
These essays always look to the spiritual for answers. The materialistic basis of science only looks at matter and energy, but the solutions to the problems of the world can’t be found there. We must look to the higher aspects of the human being, into the human soul, for permanent solutions.
Because the spiritual system on this planet is benevolent, the Law of Attraction balances the choices we make – even the bad ones – by assigning a match to each vibrational signal that is similar, and does this at the highest possible level. The grumpy person hangs out with grumpy people, and the cheerful person likes to associate with cheerful people. When the cheerful person is forced to interact with the grump – at work, or in family situations – the two don’t get along and stay away from each other as much as possible. The grump thinks the cheerful person is an airhead, and the cheerful person gets depressed.
The stockbroker who loves theater and classical music will probably never meet up with a biker who enjoys heavy metal, even if these two fellows live close to each other.
Despite physical proximity, each of us exists, literally, on our own vibrational islands. We get to choose who to allow into our circle.
The Law of Attraction ensures that bad actors are attracted to other bad actors. When bad actors prey on society, they are attracted to those whose vibrational signal is closest to theirs.
If the planet’s spiritual system wasn’t benevolent we would have destroyed this civilization during the Cold War. If you lived through that time and followed current events, you would have a hard time denying this. The bad guys have just as much license as the good guys, so the balance between Dark and Light fluctuates up and down. Free will applies to the Dark as well as to the Light.
From the standpoint of universal law, our struggles and those of our fellow human beings are simply the result of the choices we make.
Communities form from people with shared interests, which is another way of saying, with vibrational signals that are similar. Just because you live next to someone doesn’t mean you have anything in common. In my rural community I interact a lot with my neighbors, except for the guy who lives one house to the left. My vibe and his don’t match up. When I was growing up my brother and I shared a bedroom, but our worlds were so different we never connected or interacted on anything. I lived in the city of Detroit for 16 years growing up. Before our family moved we lived in a real working class community where all the kids played with each other. When I was in 7th grade we moved into another neighborhood, but I never interacted with any of the kids my age in the new neighborhood, because their interests were totally different than mine.
When we look at the world vibrationally, it is possible to see life as a gigantic physics lab, where coincident events are rationally and logically managed by the nature of vibrational interaction. When white light (which contains the frequency of blue) is bounced off a blue piece of paper, for example, only the frequencies that match the color blue are reflected. The blue paper finds the blue in the white light and reacts with it. Life is similar. Misery matches up with misery, and joy with joy. But the spiritual system – designed by a benevolent Creator – has been designed to select the balance at the highest possible outcome, taking into account free will.
Because human beings are incarnated non-physical conscious personalities associated with physical bodies, all have free will. Materialists say that a human being is a piece of meat, but each one of us has a divine connection to the Creative Source. All human beings are sovereign in their own experience because no one can think your thoughts or change your vibrational signal.
If all humans are sovereign, then it is not possible to create in the experience of another. No matter how many wish for a world of complete harmony, each being on this planet has the choice to create what he or she wishes, and each one is doing so. And indeed complete harmony amongst beings is not necessary for anyone to live in joy and abundance. It would be the height of arrogance (and ignorance) for anyone to assume they can create for another, from a judgment that he or she is not choosing properly. This is what dictators do: they use physical force and intimidation to force people to change their minds. But saying the favorite slogan of the Party is much different than actually believing it. A person’s thoughts are their own.
Wanting to create a world of harmony and peace is admirable. Nowadays it seems like a darned good idea. But for many this desire comes from a feeling that there is something terribly wrong. From this vibration, however, we just get more of the same. Correcting wrongs focuses on wrongs, which causes wrongs to persist.
Imagine a world where each and every person in it is experiencing precisely according to their vibrational focus, and you have an accurate picture of the situation on planet earth. The Law of Attraction responds the strongest to the most strongly activated vibration. If your focus does not match your desires you cannot experience what you want.
Vibrational matching is the fundamental universal principle, so the world is always as perfect as we allow it to be.
