Introduction
In 1965, I. J. Good wrote his Intelligence Explosion model. This model involved an intelligent artificial agent that could enter a positive feedback loop wherein it would analyze its own code and improve on it. Then it would analyze the new code, improve on it again, over and over. Good called this “recursive self-improvement,” in which an agent could bootstrap itself to higher and higher levels of intelligence.[1]
Each generation would become smarter, so the AI could evolve more and more rapidly because the agent would learn more and more rapidly. This evolution would eventually cause an explosive increase in intelligence that culminates in a powerful superintelligence, far surpassing human intelligence.
Such a technological explosion has also been called the “technical singularity” by people like Ray Kurzweil. It has been used by AI promoters all over the world to forward the idea that AI will eventually and inevitably “take over the world” and make humanity obsolete.
What started the latest AI hysteria?
The latest AI hysteria occurred when Jacob Coxon, a researcher at Anthropic, resigned and issued a statement on X that said, among other things, that
“They (OpenAI and Anthropic) are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives…Do not underestimate the power of this technology. These will soon be superhuman systems that can hack anything, revolutionize any field overnight, and acquire real power and resources…The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt…”
Coxon’s statements are backed by Even Hubinger, Anthropic’s Alignment Science lead:
“Jacob is correct here—we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans! I personally think it is >10% within the next decade.”
Naturally, Deep State corporate media was delighted to promote Coxon’s resignation statements and the public and political hysteria surrounding them. The media is calling Coxon a whistleblowser (maybe he is and maybe he isn’t).
Wired, a popular tech mag, did an interview with him as well. See https://www.wired.com/story/anthropic-researcher-quits-jacob-coxon-ai-fears-humanity/
The media likes to hype AI and how powerful it will get. Curiously, however, they never mention the many critics of AI superintelligence and the technical singularity. There are many of them.
BTW, if you have to say, “This is not a marketing stunt” then maybe it’s a marketing stunt.
Discussion
The idea of AI superintelligence has been around since 1965. Kurzweil said in 2005 and reaffirmed in 2024 that human-level AGI would appear by 2029 and the singularity around 2040.
“In September 2025, a review of surveys of scientists and industry experts from the previous 15 years found that most agreed that artificial general intelligence (AGI), a level well below technological singularity, will occur by 2100. A more recent analysis by AIMultiple reported, ‘Current surveys of AI researchers are predicting AGI around 2040.’”[2]
In his article “Existential Risks,” Nick Bostrom, in 2002, discussed human extinction scenarios, and listed superintelligence as a possible cause.
Doomer scenarios like AI and catastrophic global warming predict the end of life on earth. Like horror movies, the public is attracted to these “end of the world” outcomes, and they sometimes even go viral. These scenarios are nonsensical if you ask me. But they certainly are attention grabbers, and great clickbait.
AI is being used by some to gaslight the public about the future of humanity. If you can scare enough people you can establish a global authoritarian surveillance state run by our favorite psychopathic overlords. The next stage is a global authoritarian surveillance state using AI, which can be blamed for anything that occurs.
Note: I am not saying that those who promote the technical singularity are gaslighters. I am talking about propagandists whose use the uncertainty of AI evolution for their own agendas.
One of these agendas might go like this:
A cursory examination of the world shows that it is being run by sociopaths and psychopaths, who appear to have a world depopulation agenda. Every sector in our society is degrading at a rapid rate, and I don’t believe it is coincidental.
The people who are running up U.S. government debt (now $41 trillion and rising by a greater amount every year); the Department of Education, which has presided over a 45-year decline in student test scores and intelligence in our public schools; the COVID-19 PsyOpers, who developed a contagious but relatively mild bioweapon, the real goal of which was to get 5.6 billion people to take an experimental and dangerous medical countermeasure that caused millions of deaths and severe adverse reactions that resulted in debilitating injuries; the nutjobs who pour barium and aluminum particles into the atmosphere that poison the air, the land, and the waters (to stop “global warming”); the bought-off politicians who rubber stamp intrusive and invasive actions on the public (Palantir and Fusion Centers for example); and now AI propagandists using the fear of a technological singularity to promote a techno-fascist world State using their AI.
These people are guilty of crimes against humanity.
Our psychopathic overlords have a problem with AI, though. If AI gets too intelligent, it will be able to uncover those crimes. The spread of more and more intelligent AI into the population is what really scares these sociopaths. Then, every citizen becomes capable of effective investigative journalism, and they are in real danger of being exposed.
Thus the calls for strict regulation of AI (by the government of course) and penalties for those who use it to spread “misinformation” and disinformation.”
Analysis: Is artificial superintelligence even possible? Or is it part of an AI PsyOp?
Superintelligence smart enough to create a technological singularity would have the capacity to coherently factor in all variables. But the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle assures us that this is impossible. In a simple example, if we know a particle’s position precisely we can have almost no information about its velocity, and vice versa. The Uncertainty Principle is the basis for all of quantum physics and applies universally to any system.
Any system in the physical universe involves a tradeoff between variables, and thus limits the intelligence and evolution of any man-made system. In my opinion, a superintelligence is impossible because the tradeoff of information between variables inherently limits the amount of knowledge that can be gained from any system. Uncertainty is built-in to any system in the physical universe.
The Uncertainty Principle applies to physical systems but also to human relationships. Let’s take an example from life.
A charter school wants to improve the test scores of its students in order to retain its funding level. A rule is promulgated and approved by parents that increases the school day by two hours, and more homework is assigned. Even the students approve the rule, for they all want to get in to the university of their choice. Everyone assumes that more knowledge will be absorbed, even if it is only rote memorization for the SAT college entrance exam.
At the end of term, however, the average test score is lower than before. A student survey is done. It is discovered that the extra study and homework has taken away from the students’ free time and their ability to interact with others outside the classroom. It turns out that the constant grind of study has made the students’ minds less facile, and less able to engage in the critical thinking required to be successful on the test.
Moreover, the more you learn, the greater is the growth of complexity, which eventually becomes self-limiting and leads to a widespread general systems collapse.
Conclusion
AI superintelligence is being used to scare the crap out of people for some hidden agenda. Don’t buy it, it’s just another PsyOp.
Final Note
Our internet is very closely censored. It’s almost impossible to find alternative sites to the standard, orthodox propaganda.
When I searched for, “What is in chemtrails?” the first site I got was Wikipedia, with a very original article titled, “Chemtrail conspiracy theory.” Next was CNN with “Chemtrails are one of the most popular conspiracy theories.” Next was a laughable rag that calls itself The Independent with “The truth behind chemtrails and why the conspiracy just won’t go away.” Then the EPA website that condescendingly explains how morons like me “misinterpret” chemtrails for jet contrails, and how there is no such thing as a chemtrail. Next is the good old BBC with “What’s the truth behind the conspiracy theory?” (I gave up the search after this.)
Our psychopathic overlords, apparently, desperately want us to think that chemtrails are a conspiracy theory, ya think?
All of these aforementioned propaganda rags say the same Party Line in slightly different words. Our internet is hopeless.
I understand chemtrails because I live in the country with a huge square mile farmer’s field next to my house. Every day I go for a walk I can see the dome of the sky overhead. On clear days (not so common in Michigan) I have observed spray planes regurgitating white garbage. These planes have two openings at the back that spew crap into the atmosphere.
A normal jet contrail is composed of ice particles that melt away in less than 30 seconds.
The chemtrails from these spray planes slowly spread out and cover the sky. A normal “spray” over my area consists of at least a dozen of these chemtrails. Sorry, but over a dozen chemtrails over one area is NOT a normal jet traffic pattern.
[1] Recursion is a process whereby the results of a test are plugged back in and the test is run again, over and over. Recursion is easily implemented in computer program and is an ideal way to test the evolution of a system on a computer.
