Having lived through the Watergate scandal and the Nixon\nadministration (we all called Richard Nixon \u201cTricky Dicky\u201d at the time) and now\nTrump, Mueller, and Russiagate, I have noticed similarities in both of these\nhistoric events. The connection is the intelligence community and the CIA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Watergate scandal originated with a ridiculously\nincompetent burglary by five members of President Nixon\u2019s re-election staff at\nthe Democratic National Committee HQ at the Watergate hotel complex. The\nensuing scandal, which lasted from 1972 to 1974 and resulted in Congressional\nhearings and Nixon\u2019s impeachment, is so complex that I have never understood\nwhy or how it happened. It has been surrounded with confusing info and disinfo.\nOne thing is clear: Watergate had all the hallmarks of an intelligence\noperation. So does Russiagate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

April 12, 2019, at https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/local\/obituaries\/la-me-james-mccord-watergate-breakin-dead-20190419-story.html<\/a>). <\/p>\n\n\n\n McCord and four Cuban operatives clumsily broke into the DNC on the night of June 17, 1972. Here\u2019s what the article says: <\/p>\n\n\n\n Of all the Watergate characters, McCord was the most puzzling, a retired CIA operative who cloaked himself in several layers of mystery and somehow ended up on a security detail for Nixon\u2019s reelection team. Carrying briefcases and walkie-talkies, McCord and four Cuban nationals who made up a clandestine burglary team known as the \u2018plumbers\u2019 broke in to the Democratic headquarters in the Watergate building. While McCord and the others scoured the offices, Liddy and Hunt \u2014 equally compromised ex-spies \u2014 ran the operation from another hotel room. But the break-in was as sloppy as it was bold, and the five plumbers were arrested when a security guard noticed the door ajar to the Democratic headquarters, a piece of tape covering the lock<\/em>. Liddy and Hunt fled but were arrested the next day. McCord later said that it was never altogether clear to him what they were looking for and that he was working on vague directions to take photos of anything that appeared to be related to money<\/em>. [emphasis mine]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n A piece of tape covering the lock? It\u2019s almost as if the \u201cplumbers\u201d\nwanted to be discovered! And why do you break into a place without knowing what\nyou are looking for?<\/p>\n\n\n\n The most famous person connected to the Watergate incident\n(other than Nixon) is Bob Woodward, who at the time was a little known reporter\nfor the Washington Post<\/em>. Woodward claimed\nhe got his info on the burglary from FBI agent Mark Felt (look him up) who he\nclaimed was \u201cdeep throat.\u201d What is little known about Woodward \u2013 even though he\nhas written publicly about this \u2013 is that Woodward worked in the intelligence\ncommunity and was an officer in the ONI, the Office of Naval Intelligence.\nWoodward was assigned to Admiral Thomas Moorer, then chief of naval operations,\nand disliked Nixon. Moorer favored George Bush (Bush 41), who later became the\nhead of \u2013 you guessed it \u2013 the CIA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n (See \u201cWho IS Woodward anyway? I don\u2019t mean for this to be a long article, so let\u2019s just say that John Brennan, former head of the CIA, and James Clapper, former Director of National Intelligence, conducted a spying operation on Trump, Supreme Court justices, and millions of Americans. This was made clear in the material on HAMR. No, not heat-assisted magnetic recording a la hard drives, but an intelligence spying operation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
